Nelson Street is an inclusive and diverse multi-residential development, incorporating a variety of one, two and three bedroom apartments and townhouses as well as affordable housing. The design concept was to create a connection between the surrounding community and the nearby creek to the new development.
Nelson Street’s design encourages public access to the neighbouring creek, activating the underutilised green space for the benefit of the wider community. The ground-level connection between the creek, residential, commercial and public realm is enhanced by the considered placement of civic amenities including a café, home offices, a gym, yoga and wellbeing studio.
This idea flows through to the visual connection from the dwellings to the picturesque, natural surrounds of the site. This is optimised through the buildings’ orientation, creating open vistas throughout the development’s network of spaces.
