Inspiration for this iconic hotel’s design came from the verdant surrounds of the Ringwood site. A a wealth of green spaces is to be found adjacent including the nearby Ringwood Lake, Mullum Mullum Creek and nature reserves. The graded sloping rooftop garden creates a dialogue between the exterior architecture and the surrounding environment. The undulating aspect of the building was designed to reduce noise, let in an abundance of natural sunlight and for guests to be able to enjoy panoramic views from every window. While remaining sympathetic to the site, the building’s terraced design is dynamic with angular lines that allow the eye to travel. The ‘stacked’ look of the bold lines are softened by the wrapping curves and angles of the building.
